Nominal linkers in Central Kurdish (Ardalāni variety)


 This chapter provides a description of noun phrases in the Ardalāni variety Sorani Kurdish. In Kurdish, surface word order within Noun Phrase is head initial and post-nominal modifiers are linked to phrase by linking element called Ezafe (Windfuhr 1989). We show that realization phonologically conditioned Ardalāni, unlike other varieties However, crucially, we definite contexts, obligatorily appears irrespective phonological context, it takes special form.
